Carmelo Anthony and La La Anthony Settle Divorce

According to TMZ, Carmelo Anthony and La La Anthony appear to have reached a settlement in their divorce.

According to court records obtained by TMZ, the NBA legend and the entertainer told the court this week about the deal. Its terms are confidential, and the judge has not yet signed off.

As TMZ first reported, La La filed for divorce in 2021, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple separated in 2017 after seven years of marriage, amid rumors that Melo had cheated. They tried to work things out but ultimately called it quits. When the filing came, sources said the exes had been apart for some time but were still friends, and that the split wasn’t nasty.

The divorce was finalized after their 19-year-old son, Kiyan, became an adult, which made child support a moot issue. Kiyan has just begun his college basketball career as a sophomore at Syracuse University, where his father played and won a national championship.

Terrence Howard Predicts End of Hollywood as A.I. Takes Over Movie Industry

Terrence Howard says Hollywood’s golden age is coming to an end, and he has a surprising take on why that may not be entirely bad.

TMZ caught up with the “Empire” star in Los Angeles on Tuesday at an event for his new movie “A Good Hand Wasted.” Asked about the slowdown in production, he painted a grim picture for actors, saying acting jobs are headed for extinction and comparing the moment to the industry’s shift away from silent films.

Howard believes A.I. will take over much of Hollywood, but he isn’t sounding the alarm. He thinks the industry needs to accept what’s coming, saying “you can’t compete with inevitability” and insisting the change isn’t necessarily negative, even if some major talent gets left behind.

He cited Ben Affleck’s reported $587 million A.I. startup deal with Netflix as evidence that the industry is already preparing.

Still, he hasn’t given up on filmmaking altogether. He said the future lies in backing independent filmmakers and artists, especially as major studios lean further into A.I.

Howard also seems to have a backup plan in case Hollywood is turned upside down. When TMZ spoke with him in New York City last week, he floated the idea of running for president.

It’s never a dull conversation with Terrence!

Lil Durk’s Dad Says Rapper Is Being Harassed in Solitary Confinement

Lil Durk’s father says his son’s placement in solitary confinement is nothing but “harassment,” and he doesn’t believe the timing is a coincidence, with the rapper fighting to get out of jail.

TMZ caught up with Dontay Banks Sr., better known as Big Durk, in Los Angeles on Wednesday, where he accused authorities of targeting his son ahead of a major bond hearing.

He insisted Lil Durk is staying strong and focused despite the isolation, though he admitted the two haven’t been able to communicate while the rapper is in solitary. Big Durk said his son understands what comes with his legal battles after being acquitted of all five charges in his federal murder-for-hire trial, and that he was looking ahead to Wednesday’s hearing.

Big Durk was joined by his spiritual representative, Zül-Qarnaįn, who shared the optimism, saying Lil Durk remains grounded in his faith and is asking fans to keep him in their prayers.

As TMZ broke, Lil Durk was placed in solitary confinement last week at the Metropolitan Detention Center in L.A. Sources said his cell had been searched repeatedly with no contraband found, and that he was allegedly disciplined after questioning the searches.

Though he was acquitted in September, the rapper remains behind bars while he awaits a separate federal trial on racketeering and firearms charges, now scheduled for August 2027.

When TMZ spoke with Big Durk in September, he was celebrating his son’s courtroom win. This time, his message was much simpler: “Keep us in prayer.” His next hope is freedom.
