Kim Kardashian reportedly had a gun held to her head during a 2018 trip to Uganda with Kanye West, and according to her biographer, Ye was the reason it happened.
Jonathan Van Meter, a respected entertainment journalist, wrote Kardashian’s new biography, “Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future.” In it, he recounts a story told to him by Farnaz Farjam, a TV executive who once produced “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” She said the trip showed just how strained Kim and Ye’s relationship had become.
According to the account, a paranoid Kanye, convinced someone was trying to drug him, persuaded local police to search every room at the resort where the couple was staying. At one point, Van Meter writes, one of the officers had a gun pointed at Kim’s head.
Kim was unharmed, and photos from the trip made the two look like a happy couple, though they would file for divorce a few years later.
Van Meter did not interview Ye for the book, saying it wouldn’t have felt fair to do so while Kanye is dealing with serious mental health struggles. He did speak with Kim at length about her ex, and she told him she still worries about him. She said she tries to portray Kanye as a good guy to their four children, though that’s difficult when he isn’t around much.
