October 30, 2026 Tupac Murder Convict Keffe D Transferred to Maximum-Security Prison

Duane “Keffe D” Davis, the man convicted of orchestrating Tupac Shakur’s 1996 murder, has been moved to a maximum-security prison near Las Vegas, just weeks after receiving a sentence of decades behind bars.

Las Vegas outlet 8 News Now reports that Davis was transferred from a Las Vegas jail to High Desert State Prison, a high-security facility, following his conviction and sentencing earlier this month.

According to TMZ, the 63-year-old was sentenced on October 13 to 40 years to life in prison, after a jury found him guilty of first-degree murder in August.

Prosecutors argued that Davis helped plan the fatal drive-by shooting as payback for an attack on his nephew, Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, by Tupac and members of his entourage at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Tupac was shot on September 7, 1996, while riding in a BMW with Suge Knight, and he died six days later at just 25. Davis was the only person ever charged in the rapper’s killing, which went unsolved for nearly three decades.

Davis’ legal team continues to maintain his innocence and plans to appeal the conviction.
