The topic “Kathryn Hahn Says Goodbye to MCU Agatha Role” has two versions, a written one, and a video version below the written one.

Kathryn Hahn, the leading lady of “Agatha All Along,” has wrapped up her recent portrayal of Agatha Harkness in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Her solo series, which aired on Disney+ in September and October, concluded with a surprising twist: Agatha Harkness is now a ghost in the MCU.

After making a highly celebrated appearance in 2021’s “WandaVision,” Hahn elevated her character to new heights of excitement in her own solo series. “Agatha All Along” featured captivating magic and chart-topping music, which left fans yearning for more Agatha in the MCU. However, given the packed schedule of upcoming MCU projects, finding the right opportunity for the character’s return is a challenging task.

Marvel's Kathryn Hahn Bids Agatha Harkness Goodbye

Kathryn Hahn Says Goodbye to MCU Agatha Role

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Kathryn Hahn, the star ofAgatha All Along, appeared to bid farewell to her role as Agatha Harkness in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the time being. She discussed her relationship with Joe Locke’s character, Billy Maximoff, and expressed hope that she might be able to do for him what she couldn’t achieve for Nicholas Scratch, who was officially introduced in Episode 8 ofAgatha All Along. In addition, Hahn described the show asa beautiful and satisfying way to say goodbyeto her character in her journey through the MCU:

“Even though obviously now Billy/Wiccan is not her son, there is some sort of hope for her that she’s able to maybe do for him what she couldn’t do for Nicky. I think they do make a great team. Of course, I love this part, and I love Joe Locke madly, and we’ll see what the future holds. In my mind, this was a beautiful and satisfying way to say goodbye to this incredible character I had to play.”

Despite her comments, Hahn expresses nothing but love for this character, reflecting on how Agathareopened [her] hunger and love for performingand became a role she will cherish forever:

“By the end of the show, I would go into hair and makeup at the end of the day and be like,Well, this is my last acting job, because I felt like I had a chance to do it all. But it really just reopened my hunger and love for performing. I do feel like this is exactly the part I’m supposed to play at this period of my life.”

In reflecting on the show’s conclusion, Hahn acknowledged the pride she and her team felt regarding their work. She described the ending assubversive and radical, highlighting how meaningful it was to conclude the series with a message that was bothsmall and tender:”

“But I do know how proud we are of it and how subversive and radical it felt to have an ending, especially a big Marvel show, be that small and tender and have this little beating heart.”

Hahn previously spoke to Rolling Stone about the possibility of Agatha Harkness crossing over into a movie role, stating that she felt she wouldonly be asked if it was necessary:”

“I would say, I think I’d only be asked if it was necessary and juicy. So, who knows? The craziest, most perfect, side-door entrance to this world is to be a witch. It feels wicked step-sister-y. And I really like it like that.”

Despite this, during a live recording of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the actress acknowledged thepotential funthat could arise from Agatha joining the movie side of the MCU:

“I think the witches are really great… A really great, great way in anywhere. And I also- That’s why, when it was a witch that I was proposed to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I was like It really felt wicked stepsister-y, like we were getting away with something, coming in through, like, a side door. We were like,Don’t mind me!Because it really did feel like, when is someone gonna pull the plug? But I do think that there, there is would be a lot of potential fun in just dropping a witch into any grouping.”

When Will Kathryn Hahn Return as Agatha Harkness?

Considering Kathryn Hahn’s popularity in the MCU fandom, many fans are hopeful that this series won’t be her last opportunity to portray this game-changing character. Jac Schaeffer, the showrunner of “Agatha All Along,” has hinted at discussions about a potential Season 2, expressing a desire to explore more chapters of Agatha’s life that have yet to be revealed.

Despite Agatha currently being a ghost in the MCU, it’s important to remember that in the comic book world, no one truly stays dead. This principle applies to Marvel Studios as well. For example, even though Wanda Maximoff is confirmed to be dead in Agatha’s solo series, many fans believe she will make a return soon.
Agatha made it clear that she does not consider herself a hero in her story. She openly acknowledges her past misdeeds as a ghost and finds returning to the living world to be quite challenging. Nevertheless, she remains committed to looking after Billy Maximoff and is determined to help him with his upcoming mission.
In Episode 9, Agatha and Billy set off on a quest to find a reincarnated Tommy Maximoff, which could be a crucial step in assembling the MCU’s Young Avengers. While Agatha is unlikely to join that team, she appears to be set to play a significant role in reconnecting the brothers.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is preparing for two new Avengers movies, with “Avengers: Secret Wars” expected to be the biggest crossover event in film history. This could provide a great opportunity for Agatha to make her return, especially since many anticipate that it will also serve as a comeback for Wanda, allowing Elizabeth Olsen to rejoin the story.

Regardless of how the narrative unfolds, fans remain hopeful that Kathryn Hahn’s villainous magic-user will create more chaos in the near future.
All nine episodes of “Agatha All Along” are now available to stream on Disney+.
